Just write it down

One thing that helps me think is writing.

No, I don’t mean writing publicly, like on Medium or on another blogging platform.

I’m talking about writing for yourself, and keeping for yourself.

On Basecamp, every day we answer the question “What did you work on today?”. When a few sentences would usually do, I found that this is an opportunity to make my creativity thoughts flow.

Instead of answering only the original question, I also answer question “Why is it important?”. And while that doesn’t usually end up in the final answer, it really helps me rethink some decisions that I made, and think about future decisions I could do.

When it’s hard to think about the problem, put everything down into words. You don’t need to share them with anybody. You don’t need to worry about structure or style. You don’t even have to write anything new. The real reason you’re writing is to make space for new thoughts.

Because having clear mind might spark a new idea.

Maybe it will be the one?
